We are in Kiev!

Before I get started, I must say that I am sorry for not blogging until we were already gone, but as you can imagine we have been quite busy...packing, getting the kids ready for an extended stay with their grandparents, oh and then there was also Thanksgiving thrown in too.  Needless to say we were working until the last minute to get away.
All that to say....WE ARE IN UKRAINE!!!  After months of dreaming  about this day it has finally arrived!!!  God blessed us with safe travel, no delays and all of our luggage.  Just a note, if you are going through the Paris airport to anywhere allow yourself about 2 hours.  Our plane got there early and we were thankful for the extra time...we needed it to get through security.  Tomorrow (Dec. 5) we will meet with the SDA at 11:30.  That is 3:30 AM at home.  Please pray that the meeting will go smoothly and that we will be able to travel to Odessa Friday night.  Also as you are praying... please pray for another couple who is adopting as well.  They are here with us in Ukraine.  They are having a difficult time with their paperwork and the US government.  Just pray for a solution to the problem.  Give them peace whatever the outcome.
Believe it or not, it is not cold here!!! I got off the plane in Kiev and started sweating!!  If you know me you know that I was concerned about being cold. This is as far north as I have ever been and I  am her in the WINTER!!!  Thanks to a friend I have some great comfy WARM clothes. (Thanks A Mc!!!) I really have not even had to really wear my coat...I know that is hard to believe.  I am sure it will get colder, but right now it is great.  Please continue to pray for strength and wisdom.  May the Lord be glorified is all of this process!!!
It is great to get messages from you all- thanks for your encouragement and prayers!!! We hope to do a better job of keeping up the blog while we are here.   Sheila

  3. So glad to hear that you made it safely.....and with your luggage!

We will be praying that everything goes smoothly at the SDA appointment tomorrow, and that they will go ahead and give you the paperwork to travel to Odessa.

If you are stuck in Kyiv for the weekend, take your time to enjoy the city. There is a lot to do and see there. :-) A LOT.

    Either way, keep us posted!

  6. Praying for you to have a successful meeting this morning! Wow, just looked at my clock. . . your meeting is only 3 hours away!

So glad you are warm!! :) It is nothing worse than being cold. I'd take the not needing your coat yet over being miserably cold!

I cannot wait for you to bring Karina home!! Praying for you and the kids (and Matthew's parents) while y'all are there. Will check on sweet Noah Sunday.
