A note to those of you out there who are looking for a facilitator- we have been very happy with ours. If you want to find out more info about him let us know.
I have not really blogged about the emotions of all of this. Let me just say that my emotions range from giddy to excited to overwhelmed to who knows what every 5 seconds. It is surreal to realize that we are really here and we will see our daughter shortly! What a blessing!!!! We saw a picture of Karina at the SDA and she looked so young.... oh, I can't wait to see her.
Oh, just a word to the couples who will be traveling to Ukraine. A power converter and an adapter are NOT the same thing and cannot be used at will. I almost caused a small (or large depending on how you look at it) disaster in our hotel room with a hair straightener. Thankfully, my observant husband recognized the smell of something burning in time to save the straightener.
We have enjoyed some pretty good food since we have been here. The hotel has a restaurant in it that is pretty good. They also serve a buffet style breakfast. Matthew loves a foreign breakfast! We have been able to enjoy our meals with Martha and Jay, the other couple here for their SDA appointment. Please continue to pray for them. We have so enjoyed having their company.
A few prayer requests before I go...
Please pray that we can go to Odessa tonight. (If we are able to go I will try to post before we leave.)
Please pray for strength and rest and clarity of thought for us. We are still a little jet lagged and getting accustom to the time difference.
Pray for the people we come in contact with, that they will be kind and will work with us ethically.
Please continue to pray for Matthew's parents and our children. We spoke to them yesterday and it was a big boost for us to see them. We are thankful to God for technology!!!
And most of all pray that God may be glorified through it all!!!! We are so thankful for all of you. Your support is so encouraging to us, especially as we are here. THANK YOU! Sheila
UNEVENTFUL is good news!
ReplyDelete.......in regards to the SDA appointment, and the near-fire! LOL
We were up until twelve thirty or so last night and I prayed for you as we were going to sleep (which, I suppose was when y'all were heading to the appointment). Such good news! If you guys are back by the staff reunion, we're going to go ahead and have family groups at your house--the pie is in the freezer, right? : )
ReplyDeleteI'm sl glad to hear your appointment was quick and painless. I'm sure Karina's photo was young--and I'm SO glad you are there for her! :-)
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you to get a court date as soon as possible. It is somewhat strange to think back that we were there for our appoint almost exactly one year ago. God bless.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your appointment went well!
ReplyDeletePraying, praying, praying!!! YAY!!! This is so exciting I can hardly stand it!!
We pray Psa 27:14, for Jay & Martha, "Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!"
ReplyDeleteand Isaiah 30:18 for you, "The LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him."
The chil'ren are precious. Grandmommy baked bread and cookies yesterday. Grandfather read about Beowulf to them, then about David's valiant warriors in the Bible.
We saw Karina at the orphanage today. She is a take-charge girl. There is also an award on the wall that she won for her singing. They say she is a good singer. See you soon!
